ReplyDeleteSuperman represents the american culture. Some attributes he had were being strong, and brave. Some attributes the anglo saxons valued were braveness, courage, being strong, being skillful in fighting and harvesting food. They valued being strong, brave, and courageous since they always fought with neighboring places, and since their culture included a lot of conquering. I think that they valued being skillful with sewing, and harvesting, since back then they had to make their own things.
ReplyDeleteIron man represents the American culture. SOme of his attributes are that he's smart, creative, things through very fell in a fight, and is very brave. I believe that the Anglo Saxon's valued braveness, strength , and heart of a warrior.
ReplyDeleteI didn't really have a specific hero. They were a group of people that worked together so I can't point out a single person. My heroes are the Founding Fathers. The Founding Fathers represent the American culture. The Founding Father's consist on Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, James Madison, John Adams, George Washington, John Jay, John Hancock, and Alexander Hamilton. What the Founding Fathers did was that they put together the Bill of Rights. Without the Bill of Rights we wouldn't be where we are today and have all the security from the government. For the Anglo Saxons, I dont think they had the same attributes that they valued like the Founding Fathers. The Anglo Saxons seemed to have a more physical attributes, like strength, and bravery. I say this because a lot of the writings are about them conquering other people. The Founding Fathers were more on the mental not so physical attributes, like Freedom and Equality.
ReplyDeleteOh and I like Spider-Man.
-Dylan White
Iron Man represents the common American culture. Hes very smart, has fat loads of money, and has the resources available to utilize the technology today to defeat terrorists and villains. He's a symbol of American technology and advancement and he shows how we, as American's, use technology as a means to solve most of today's problems.
ReplyDeleteAnglo Saxons most likely valued traits like superiority, physical fitness, intellectual prowess, and great leadership skills.

ReplyDeleteRambo represents American culture. Attributes that make Rambo a hero is that he was a Green Beret and he always does things to save people, he's saved POWs in vietnam, he's saved his old commanding officer/friend from captivity by the Russians, and he's saved christian missionaries from captivity by the Burmese army. For these reasons, I think he is an American hero. I think the Anglo-Saxons value their religion, food, and culture.
One of the heroes that I had on my list was Hercules. Hercules is from Greek mythology and is one of the Gods. One attribute that he is famous for is his incredible strength.
ReplyDeleteI think the Anglo-Saxons really cared about strength and bravery. They just seemed to never be scared of anything, especially of death.

ReplyDeleteOne of my main heroes is Peter Griffin from Family guy. He represents comedy, family, morals, and learning. Peter Griffin goes through different adventures each day and learn or even teaches something new.
ReplyDeletePeter Griffin does not always follow the norm. He's an individual who, like everyone else, has different challenges in life and works to conquer them.
I believe the Anglo-Saxons valued honestly, friendship, and intellect. If you were able to trust your neighbor, then you would value that. And intellect because the bards would sing and tell stories and write of great adventures. They were certainly second to the great warriors of their time.
One of the heros I put on my list are firefighters. They put themselves in danger everyday and do things most people could never do. The world is never going to be safe but, knowing what their willing to risk to save people they don't know is just really amazing to me.
ReplyDeleteThe Anglo-Saxons where loyal, brave, strong, and generous. They cared for simple things. They weren't scared of death and they didn't live a luxurious life.
well i dont have only one hero. its a group of people. my heroes are the USMC. if you dont know what USMC stands for its the United States Marine Corps. the reason why i call them my heroes is because they fight for our country when nobody else will. They are the first ones in and the last ones out. i know so many people that are Marines. they tell me a lot about it. i am joining the Marines after high school. i am enlisting in October. the Marines represent the American culture. They have strength, bravery, and honor. those are attributes that i think they have. those are my heroes and nobody else would a better hero than them. also, i think the anglo saxons valued friendship and honesty. people would value eachother if they could trust eachother.
ReplyDeletefirefighters represent all cultures, they aren't only from one place. You can find many different ethnicities and fire stations aren't only in America. The possess selflessness, courage, and strength. I think the Anglo Saxons value strength and courage.

ReplyDeleteSpiderman represents American culture. The attributes he had that makes him a superhero are he has webs, brave , confidence , has super human powers. he puts his life for the community. The attributes anglo saxons leaders must have was, they should be brave, skilled at fighting and to be really very strong.
ReplyDeleteThe hero that I chose to analyze is Sojourner Truth. Sojourner Truth, a former African-American slave, dedicated her whole life to aiding civil and women's rights. Sojourner is best known as a hero for her courageous participation in the underground railroad. The heroic attributes demonstrated by Sojourner are the following: admirable, loyal, ambitious, and of course, courageousness. The Anglo-Saxons value their hero's attributes such as bravery, strength, and the overall desire for glory or fame.
ReplyDeleteKanye West represents the American culture, because he is an American singer and he was born and raised here as well. The attributes that my hero has are, talent, he always stays true to his word, he's very self confident, he grew into what he is with hard work, he is respected, he inspires others, also he's taught that you can make it with just settling your mind to it, he represents strength for me, his music inspires me to want to keep going and achieving my goals. I think that the Angle-Saxons' attributes would be valuing their leader and everything that it may represent to them,
ReplyDeleteI have many heroes but my all time favorite is Haile Gebrselassie a Ethiopian runner who has set the world record at the olympics. Haile is a full Ethiopia born and raised in Ethiopian on a farm. He was the first Ethiopian runner to set the world record in the olympics and then break it again. He is a very smart and skillful in many different ways such as helping his country by providing jobs for the country. Some attributes Anglo Saxons valued were fighting, courage and acting warrior like.

ReplyDeleteRosa Parks represents the african american culture. Some attributes she represents is taking a stand in what she believes. she believed that african americans should have equal rights. during the civil rights movement she took a stand in what she believes and refused to give up her seat to a white person. for taking a stand, she changed african american rights. I admire Rosa parks, she's a great hero who showed great bravery, strength, and heart. Rosa parks and anglo saxons have some common attributes that show they are brave and fight for what is right. also fight for what they believe in.
ReplyDeleteKing Kamehameha represents the Hawiian culture. Some attributes he possess is that he was was selfless & honorable, and that he helped the hawaiian island unite in 1810. Some more attributes that he possess is that he gave everything he had to help the islanders that were in need. The Anglo Saxons they value bravery, honesty, loyalty, generosity and friendship. I think that King Kamehameha and the Anglo Saxons share the same attributes because they are both brave and they help each other and that they are loyal and have a good friendship with the people around them.

ReplyDeleteWonder Woman is an American Hero. The attributes that Wonder Woman has are that she is one of the few heroes that is a woman and she can/has influence(ed) other women to be like her. As in trying to get rid of the archetype of a hero being a strong man. The attributes that the Anglo Saxons value are religion, smarts and bravery.
ReplyDeleteI have many heroes my list, but one of the tops the chart. Ronald Reagan stands before all on my list. He helped the U.S. in times of need. He helped greatly with dismantling communism in the world. He was able to communicate not only with high officials, but with the average joe as well. From the jellybeans to hollywood, he represented what he stands for which is the American culture. He is hero to the people of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the Anglo-Saxons valued culture, courage, intelligence, and most importantly, community.

ReplyDeletewonder woman is from the American culture. The attributes that she has is shes honest, nice, and she believes in herself. Shes a hero because she is a great romodel for girls to follow. ReplyDeleteBatman is from the American culture. The attributes that he has are that he is strong, he works only at night, he has a fast car, and he is very smart. He is a hero because he has everything planned out and knows how to save peoples lives. Another thing is that the values of the Anglo Saxons were that they wanted other people to believe in their religion, Christianity.
ReplyDeleteOne of my ultimate hero is Mother Teresa. This caring and compassionate person has served the world in so many ways. By involving herself in devastating situations to create a safe and loving environment for all humanity this women has given her life for the service of others. To me that is a real hero. Mother Teresa was an Albanian Roman Catholic. This shows that the value of religious, middle eastern people is to serve others. She also represents women and their power to create a loving and international care for people around the world. Mother Teresa devoted her life to charity and reaching out to help others. This influential women was well known around the world for her gratitude. She had a great impact on our world, teaching us that we must help each other. Protection and power is one of the values of the Anglo Saxons. There heros are the once that grantee safety and stability to their lives. They also want there leaders to be majestic and supernatural, especially for the Anglo Saxons that didn't believe in christianity they looker up to their king to help them Understand the world around them.
ReplyDeletethe main hero in my life or that has the greatest influence on me and my culture would have to be my mom. not just because she gave birth to me but because she is one of the strongest people i know. not strong physically but mentally. she has been through a lot of rough times and bad situations. I admire her because through all the bad things that has happened to her she still manages to keep a smile and provide for us. she is honest, loyal, courageous, and smart. and she has also taught me to be a mentally strong person.
ReplyDeletei think that the anglo saxons believed in living life with a balance. i think this because they valued many things like religion, poetry, god or gods, etc...
The hero in my life would be my grandma. She may not be the stongest person but she treats you like you were one of her own. She has been through a lot but some how she come out on top. She is as honest asa any one person but no one is perfect. She has tought my a lot in my life like how to work.
ReplyDeletethe Anglo - Saxons belive in a way of balance. the have religon and various different jobs in the town that provide for things.
ReplyDeleteEmiliano Zapata Salazar was one of many heroes to the mexican culture. He posseses many atributes that make him a hero even until this day. The Anglo-Saxons valued many things such as family, religion, faith, and courage.

ReplyDeleteMY LIST HAD A FEW DIFFERENT HEROES. MY MAIN HERO IN MY LIFE IS MY MOM THOUGH. SHE IS MEXICAN AND SO I SUPPOSE SHE REPRESENTS THE AMERICAN CULTURE. SHE FACED MANY DIFFICULT OBSTICLES IN HER LIFE, AND GOT THROUGH THEM. I ONLY HOPE ONE DAY, IM STRONG ENOUGH TO FACE THE HARDSHIP SHE HAS FACED. SHE IS CRAZY AT TIMES, BUT TO ME HAS A LOT OF KNOWLEDGE. SHE DOESN'T GIVE UP AND STRIVES TO DO THE BEST DAILY FOR ME AND THE FAMILY. SHE IS ALSO NOT SELFISH, TO ME THATS A HERO. SHE ALSO SPEAKS WHATS ON HER MIND AND IS HONEST, SHE RAISED ME TO BE WHO I AM TODAY. MY OPINION IS SHE THE BEST. KEYSHIA COLE AN INSPIRATION TO ME TOO THOUGH. :]
THE ATTRIBUTES ANGLO SAXONS VALUE ARE COURAGE,LEADERS,FOOD,RELIGION AND IM SURE THERES MORE TO IT.
According to The American Heritage Dictionary a hero is defined as a person "noted for courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life". I believe that a Hero does not have to be someone who is BRAVE, or famous and wears spandex. A hero is a person who willingly goes the extra step, but not wanting praise or recognition in return. In reality teachers are hero's. They belong to all cultures of the world and are hereos to each and every child in school. Teachers are caring, chivalrous and selfless to all the students they must teach. Without teachers this world would have no cars, no books, no computers, no peace. They bring to the world THE WORLD.
ReplyDeleteThe Anglo-Saxons do not seem to resemble teachers in my view of heroes. Anglo-Saxons seem to be about what you do and how many people saw. They want to be honored and praised with each and everything they do.

Spongebob Squarepants is from the American culture. The attributes that he has is he is free living and doesn't care what people think and acts how he wants. He shows that it is okay be be stupid sometimes. He is a good character because he shows kids to be who they want.I think the attributes that the Anglo-Saxons value are they want everyone to follow their religion and remember what they believe
ReplyDeleteBob Marley represents rasta culture and is a hero to many people all over the world. Bob Marley believed in peace and happiness. love not war. His views of the future inspired many people although he knew other people did not like his way of life. Bob marley is my hero for that purpose. trying to change the future for the better of everyone. As for the Anglo Saxons they valued faith and Courage. those were the main things they valued. Bob Marley was courageous in a way if you think about it.

For me, my hero is La Virgen de Guadalupe, or Virgin Mary. She is a symbol for all Mexican Catholics. We pray to her when we are in need of help and pray to her so that everything will be alright, especially when a family member or friend dies. For these reasons, she is caring and loving. We also have more feeling of security and protection when we carry a scapular or a rosary.

He showed his attributes by standing up for everything he believed in and not letting anything or anyone stop him. He was never afraid to speak his mind. The Anglo-Saxons valued bravery, courageousness, and strength and I believe that Malcolm X is a great example of what attributes they value.

ReplyDeleteMy heroes would have to be the leaders of the civil rights movements, due to the fact that they all represent the new image of the U.S.: equality amongst freedom. They were selfless and brave, had to have a lot of strength so as to not cave in to the pressure of being "a lesser human being".
the anglo-saxons heroes had the attributes of being strong, courageous, being godlike or just a hero among men.

ReplyDeleteOdin, a pagan god, exhibited many qualities and attributes. He was portrayed as wise, warlike, magical, prophetic, and poetic. The last one is pretty important, especially to the Anglo-Saxons, who believed poetry was the best way to be remembered.
He represents the Anglo-Saxon and pagan community, and I believe that that the Anglo-Saxons would have valued all if not most of these traits, especially the previously mentioned poetry.
So I couldn't figure who to choose as my favorite hero. None really appeal to me, super heroes just seem too fake. Real life heroes I couldn't make up my mind. So i decided to choose someone personally who really has had an impact in my life. My hero is a teacher that goes to our school (Gunderson), Mr. Vicari, I had him for 4 years and I have learned so much from him. His culture is American but his heritage is Italian. Through out his entire life he has strived to be a good person, he got his education went straight to college, fought for his rights and Americans in the Vietnam War. He had his difficulties but found his way and fought through that and found God. He has a great family, has a golden heart has very great advice. These are what I think real American Heroes should have as attributes. He doesn't have to go out only at night, in disguise and wear shiny tight spandex. He is himself, living life and doing what's right for what he believes in. He's a natural born hero to me.
ReplyDeleteThe Anglo-Saxons were warriors, they fought for their tribe, they fought to protect those who they were surrounded by, they were successful, strong and courageous.

ReplyDeleteI picked the hero, Batman. He represents the high class rich guy who keeps to himself and doesn't let people know about him. Like how most americans don't always like to share, especially the rich class. But Batman/Bruce Waine, does like to help out the poor which some americans do also.
Batman's attributes are that he fights crime, has quick smarts, educated, strong, caring, and keeps the people of Gothom city safe and helps them out.
With his attributes, it shows how he cares for people no matter who they are and if they are poor or rich. He believes in saving people and being there when anyone needs him. And he his uses his quick smarts to figure out what to do to save the day just in time.
I think the Anglo Saxons are somewhat the same on their view. Everybody needs someone to come and save their day.But the Anglo Saxons might not like the idea of wearing a black costume and dressing like a bat.
César Chávez would be the hero I picked. He helped people. He was committed to restricting immigration during the UFWA. He had leadership with the people. I think the Anglo Saxons value that had kindness towards people.

ReplyDeleteA form of japanese cheer group which is more based around men yelling "OSU" and dancing rather than girls flipping through the air. They actually have a uniform of black long sleeve blazers and black pants rather than sweats or skirts.
In the rhythm based game with the same name, an underground but surprisingly well known, government-ran cheer group, called EBA(wonder what that stands for), almost randomly give people motivation to do exactly what their almost impossible goals.
They are almost always ready to spring into action and rather than fix the problem themselves, empower people to work off their own issues. From giving a girl a chance to ask a guy out, to helping a bankrupt former-billionaire bounce back into wealth, or even assist a forecaster change the weather so she can go out to a picnic with her son instead of crushin' his hopes with the 100% rain forecast.
... It goes on... but simply put, they are BEYOND reliable.

Cesar Chavez represents the chicano culture in the United States of America. Some of the attributes that my hero has are leadership and intelligence. He showed these attributes by leading a group of farmers and organizing boycotts to protest for better pay. The Anglo Saxons valued the development of groups lead by a strong leader.
ReplyDeleteI consider Chris Gardner as one of my heroes. He represents america cultural, by being determined and over coming his problem by being homeless with his toddler son. ReplyDeleteAmano-Iwato, My hero is the Japanese God of the Sea. This God is very important to the Japanese people because Japan is an Island nation, and they use the sea for so many different things in their everyday life. The Anglo-Saxons saw Gods and Spirts in everything around them, and they valued them very much in there everyday life. So you can see the connection between the Japanese people and the Anglo- Saxons in that they value there Gods and what they represent.

Malcolm X is a what i consider a hero. He tried to become white by conking his hair. one of his most famous quotes ""Power in defense of freedom is greater than power in behalf of tyranny and oppression, because power, real power, comes from our conviction which produces action, uncompromising action." He defines courageousness and heroism because he wasn't scared of anything or anybody. He stepped up for what he believed in and wasn't afraid to speak his mind. Malcolm X is a huge influence on the world today and in America. Malcolm X is very similar to the Anglo-Saxon culture because of all the attributes they share like courage, and heroism.
