Those pages simply discussing the reasons that everyone is preparing to fight because the ghost had caused troubles. In other words discussing the showings of the rising bones of the ghost(king).
    syntax-
That we with wisest sorrow think on him

  8. 1) Horatio and Marcellus talk about the ghost, and how it will affect the people, and that its a bad omen. Horatio doesn't believe it's really the king, and when it appears, he orders it to ask him if he can help, or if there is some treasure that is keeping the ghost to pass over.

    2) Inverted Syntax Example: "For which, they say, you spirits oft walk in death,
    Speak of it"

  10. 1.}In the pages that I read during class 11-19 I read the translated version. And it was talking about how Horaito ran into the ghost and wanted to talk to it? at least that was my understanding.

2.}An example of inverted syntax is when a predicate comes before the subject?

    1. The characters Horatio and Marcellus seen a ghost and talks bout how to explain what they saw. Horatio thinks that the ghost it means that bad omens are soon to come that heaven and earth are together to warn then about something to soon happen.
    2. Example of a Inverted Syntax: pg 10 who is't that can inform me ?,
who can explain this to me

  12. Marcellus wants to know why everybody is freaking out, and about to go to war. Well Haratio spends a page and-half to basically say, "I thinks its because the other people don't like us."

My assumption is that the dane's have spotted a window of opportunity with hamlets father dyeing, so their about to ride into town and jack everybody up

But the intelligent way of saying it is that they just want to take over.

So Haratio goes on about the bad *STUFF* thats going to happen(courtesy of the ghost). He mentions this is stuff about the omen and bad misfortunes.

But the ghost is considered overrated and just known as a war omen, or harbinger of war.

Syntax: "Lets do it, I pray"

    This book is still boring

    1. pp. 10-12 summary

    Impending war with?

Blank and Blank have the same names.

*Hamlet has suddenly gotten more confusing.

    Denmark (ruler?)
    vs.
    Country? (Fortinbras)

Marcellus wants to know the 411 about why everyone in Denmark is buzzin around ready to go to war. Horatio talks about some old enemies and about how supernatural events are harbingers of bad events. Marcellus, Horatio, and Bernardo think that the ghost is just a harbinger of the upcoming war with Norway. How wrong they are. Ghost enters.

    2. inverted syntax
"A mote it [the ghost] is to trouble the mind's eye" (Shakespeare 12). (object/verb/subject)
Modern English would follow the pattern of "It is a mote...." (subject/verb/object)

    from Apple dictionary

    mote |mōt|
    noun
a tiny piece of a substance : the tiniest mote of dust.
    PHRASES
a mote in someone's eye a fault in a person that is less serious than one in someone else who is being critical. [ORIGIN: with biblical allusion to Matt. 7:3.]
ORIGIN Old English mot, related to Dutch mot ‘dust, sawdust.’

    Blah, blah, blah.
    Mr. D. is out.

  14. Marcellus is wondering why everyone in the cities was preparing for war. Horatio explains to him that the young Fortinbras has gathered a bunch of thugs just outside of the outskirts of the territory that his father has lost to Hamlet's father. And he wants the territory back. Horatio then goes on to talk about the omens that were present when Julius Ceasar was assassinated. The ghost then enters and Horatio tries to speak to it, but it would not respond to him. Marcellus, Horatio, and Barnardo try to stop it but can't. Horatio then talks about how when the cock (rooster) crows, it brings out the God of Day that sends every ghosts back to their hiding places. And then they agree to go and tell Hamlet what they saw. Claudius talks about the grievance that he has for Hamlet's father and how they must continue to live their own lives despite of what happen to the king. He speak about Fortinbras and how Fortinbras has underestimated him.

    Inverted Syntax :

"So have I heard and do in part believe" Page 16 Line 164
    (Verb/Subject/Object)

I have heard and do believe in part
    (Subject/Verb/Object)

I think that you have put a very good summary of the section, but if you think that the book is boring. Then you are boring as well.
And I believe you got everything in your summary.

  15. 1. In these few pages you get to see the character Horatio, Marcellus, and Barnardo together talking about their scary experience of the ghost that looks a lot like their old King. That was killed and Horatio at this point you see him with anger to the presence of it doing as an earth bound spirit. This making the spirit a clear sign of disaster to come in the near future, to be uncovered.

    2. Inverted syntax Act 1,Scene 2, line 120: "I shall in all my best obey you, madam" (Hamlet)
    - I will obey you in the best way, that I can ma'am

Barnardo, Marcellus, and Horatio have all caught a glimpse of King Hamlet's ghost. Horatio feels bad things will occur soon. Marcellus shares the feeling and mentions how the economy is lacking all of a sudden. Horatio tells about the late King Hamlet and his battle with, the also late, King Fortinbras. King Hamlet's ghost appears again, and Horatio implores it to speak.
